Molecular Devices markets, sells and support analytical instruments for pharmaceutical research and testing of various kinds. The company needed to revise its current website as well as freshen branding, positioning, and messaging.

They asked HiveMind to rebrand the company, building new positioning and messaging for ads, presentations, and brochures. They also asked for a revamp of a tired, inaccurate website to streamline operations, improve lead generation, and facilitate ongoing content management.


Starting from basic audience research, we crafted a new positioning and messaging for the company, revising their logo, and adding a new tagline:

Detect. Decode. Discover.

We established Brand Identity Guidelines and provided samples of brochure, data sheet, and PowerPoint templates that the company could use to unify its brand.

The idea worked.


Armed with new sales materials, presentations, an award-winning logo, and a hard-working website, the company moved forward to address other operational challenges.

The company expanded its product offerings to include reagents, implemented a marketing automation system to improve lead nurturing, and added a simple ecommerce capability for the purchase of reagents and accessories.

The website was optimized and within six months ranked on page one for 95% of its most valuable keywords.
